The wellbeing of our players, their families, and our coaches is a priority to the committee at Phoenix Football Club. Our Safeguarding Policy shows how we ensure that the physical and mental wellbeing of everyone in the Phoenix family is at the forefront of everything we do.
At Phoenix we maintain a Safeguarding Officer (Sarah), who is proactive at checking in with parents and players, and liaising with Bedfordshire FA.
Unique only to Phoenix, the club also boasts a Pastoral Support Officer (Michelle), who shares her skills as a professional, supporting players to navigate challenges, including mental health, confidence, friendships, school pressures, neuro-diversity, emotional wellbeing and football related concerns.
Sarah and Michelle work closely with the clubs coaches to ensure every player is offered appopriate support and positive guidance should they need it!
All of our coaching staff are DBS checked, first aid trained and have received qualified in safeguarding. We welcome girls of all abilities, and would actively encourage girls with disabilities or new to the game to get in touch with us to see how we are inclusive in our approaches to training and playing. Any concerns with safeguarding can be logged here: Reporting a Safeguarding Concern .
All our players who have a medical condition or special education need have a Healthcare Plan or Phoenix Player Passport so that our coaches and committee can ensure that they are safe and supported whilst in their care.
